Karmatic (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our Brand Intelligence dashboard at app.karmatic.ai (the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways:

Information You Provide: When you create a Karmatic account, we collect your name, corporate email address, and billing information.
Reddit Data (Via OAuth 2.0): To provide our monitoring Service, we use the Reddit Data API. When you connect your Reddit account, we receive an access token and basic profile information (via the identity and read scopes). We do not see or store your Reddit password.

2. How We Use Reddit Data

Karmatic acts as a “Read-Only” dashboard. We use Reddit data strictly to:

Monitor keyword mentions and brand sentiment as defined by your account settings.
Provide real-time alerts for organic community discussions.
Facilitate manual customer success engagement by deep-linking to the Reddit platform.

We do not use Reddit data to:

Train Large Language Models (LLMs) or Artificial Intelligence.
Create permanent archives of user content.
Identify or “dox” anonymous Reddit users.

3. Data Retention & The 48-Hour Purge

In strict adherence to Reddit’s 2026 Responsible Builder Policy, Karmatic operates on a Transient Data Model:

Automatic Deletion: All Reddit content (posts, comments, and metadata) is automatically purged from our active systems and caches within 48 hours of retrieval.
Right to be Forgotten: We honor all user deletions and “private” status updates. If content is removed from Reddit, it will be removed from our Service during the next refresh cycle or within 48 hours, whichever is sooner.
No Long-term Storage: We do not maintain a permanent database of Reddit content.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade Reddit data or our users’ personal information to third parties.
Compliance with Law: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
Reddit Inc.: As we utilize the official Reddit Data API, your data usage is also subject to Reddit’s Privacy Policy.

5. Security

Karmatic utilizes industry-standard encryption (AES-256) and secure OAuth 2.0 protocols to ensure that all data transfers between Reddit and our Service are protected. We implement strict internal access controls to ensure only authorized personnel can manage the Service infrastructure.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location (including the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request the immediate deletion of your Karmatic account and associated metadata.
Revoke Karmatic’s access to your Reddit account at any time via your Reddit App Preferences.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or Reddit’s API requirements. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date.”
